GHRP-6 Description
GHRP-6 (His-D-Trp-Ala-Trp-D-Phe-Lys-NH2) is composed of both natural and isomeric forms of those 6 amino acids.This sequence provides a signal to the body to begin secreting Growth release while also blocking Somatostatin, a hormone that inhibits the release of Growth .
GHRP-6, also known as Releasing Hexapeptide, is a peptide hormone of the hormone class. As is with all related peptides, GHRP-6 is widely used to increase the amount of natural GH production in the body. And the increases in GH can be beneficial to anabolism, fat loss, recovery and general well being as well as serve possible anti-aging purposes.
GHRP-6 is a potent stimulator of natural Growth release. GHRP-6 is a Hexa-peptide that promotes food intake by stimulating hunger and helps increase energy metabolism. Growth Hormon Releasing Peptides, similar to GHRP-6, are most commonly used for treatment of Growth (GH) deficiencies, eating disorders, obesity, etc. Research has shown that use of these HGH Peptides increases lean muscle mass, strength, stamina and decreases body fat.
GHRP-6 is known for being a big appetite stimulator, but it is not the strongest GH releasing peptide in the GHRP family. There are other members of the GHRP family we should briefly look at. This list is in order from strongest to weakest.
Hexarelin – The strongest in the family known to give the biggest pulse of all. Will create prolactin and cortisol side effects. Desensitization will happen regardless of the dose.
GHRP-2 – Second in the category, however, desensitization is unclear if used beyond saturation dose.
GHRP-6 – Third in the lineup for potency, and when shots are broken up, desensitization does not occur. Slightly creates prolactin and cortisol issues.
Ipamorelin – This mildest in the bunch, does not create prolactin or cortisol and at very large doses was shown to give a large release of GH without desensitization.
Application:
GHRPs are not simply surrogates of GHRH, instead GHRP-6 is an artificial activator of a separate newly discovered receptor called Growth Secretagogue Receptor (GHS-R). Soon Ghrelin was discovered, the endogenous ligand that binds to the GHS-R. Both Ghrelin and all the synthetic compounds such as GHRP-6 were termed "Growth Secretagogues" (GHSs).
One side effect of GHRP-6 is a significant increase in appetite due to stimulating the release of Ghrelin, a peptide that is released naturally in the lining of the stomach that increases hunger and gastric emptying. Also, GHRP-6 causes stimulation of the anterior pituitary gland which causes an increase in Growth release.
The increased amounts of Growth can cause the liver to secrete the hormone IGF-1, which improves the animal body's ability to burn fat and build muscle. Since GHRP-6 acts directly on the feedback loop which signals the inhibition of Growth Hormon release, GHRP-6 can re-stimulate the production of Growth Hormon.
Despite it being third in class as far as strength of GH release, GHRP-6 is still a potent GHRP and can be taken 2-3 times per day. Though there is a slight issue, GHRP-6 has been shown to not be as effective in the presence of elevated blood glucose levels. As a result, I believe the best practice for GHRP-6 dosing is to dose 2 hours after your last meal and 30 minutes before you take in any food, so that no interactions weaken the effect of GHRP-6.
Taking this into consideration, GHRP-6 can be taken 2-3 times a day (approximately 3 hours in between injections) for maximum effectiveness with a range of 100mcg-200mcg per dose. Beyond these doses, GHRP-6 was not shown to be any more effective. These saturation points are why you are going to want to break up your administration times throughout the day to allow the receptors to clear.
How to use GHRP-6
GHRP-6 is a water based injectable that you will have to mix with bac water, and store. Remember, it is important to store GHRP-6 correctly after mixing it - in the fridge. It should be good for up to 3-4 weeks, so only mix what you plan on using during that time frame.
After you carefully mix it, this compound is typically injected subcutaneously with a slin pin. For best results, it must be taken daily, and users will typically do several injections per day in order to space it out. Interestingly, GHRP-6 works best if you take it when blood sugar levels are low, and you should not eat anything for an hour after using it.
If used solo, users will run 100-400 micrograms (mcg) per injection, and if stacked with another GH hormone, dosages can be cut in half.

GHRP-6 is not sex specific, so the same doses also apply to women as they do men. Like other peptides, GHRP-6 comes as a lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder in the amount of 5mg or less. GHRP-6 must be reconstituted with bacteriostatic water and stored in a cool dry place like your refrigerator. Insulin syringes are the best way to administer the hexapeptide often subcutaneously or even intramuscularly.
GHRP-6 is most commonly provided in small vials of 5 mg, which should be stored under refrigeration. (It is acceptable however for them to be mailed unrefrigerated.) The vial is diluted with a convenient volume of sterile or bacteriostatic water. For example, the vial might be diluted with 2.5 mL of water, yielding a solution of 2 mg/mL (2000 mcg/mL.) After the water addition, the vial again will be stored under refrigeration.
When dosing, an appropriate volume will be drawn from the vial with (typically) an insulin syringe, according to the desired dose and the concentration of the preparation. In the above example, a 100 mcg dose would require only 0.05 mL, or “5 IU” as marked on an insulin syringe. A 300 mcg would require 0.15 mL, or “15 IU” as marked on an insulin syringe.
Injection may be subcutaneous, intramuscular, or intravenous according to personal preference.
Dosing will ordinarily be at least twice per day and preferably 3x/day for best effect, taken at least 30-60 minutes before a meal and at a time of non-elevated blood sugar (in other words, after blood sugar has had time to fall since the most recent meal.) The amount taken generally will be from 50-300 mcg at a time. When using a GHRH along with GHRP-6, dosing should be reduced to 50-100 mcg at a time.
For increase in GH levels, higher doses within the suggested range definitely increase effect. With regard to healing benefit, for example for tendonitis, the low end of the range is often entirely sufficient and noticeably greater effect is not necessarily seen with increased dose.
Low thyroid levels also decrease efficacy of GHRP-6, and modestly increased thyroid levels, such as with 50-200 mcg/day of T4, or 12.5-50 mcg/day of T3, may improve efficacy. (If T3 is used, dosage should be divided into three doses per day.)
While GHRP-6 is capable of inducing large increases in GH production when used alone, a given dose will show markedly more effect what a GHRH (growth hormone releasing hormone) peptide is taken at the same time. Alternately, when combining a GHRH with GHRP-6, only about half or a third as much GHRP-6 is needed to obtain the same increase in GH production.
For this reason, it’s a common choice to combine a GHRH with a GHRP, but excellent results are often obtained without doing so. A preferred choice of GHRH is Mod GRF 1-29 (also known as CJC-1295 without DAC.)
