Description

It is a colorless liquid with steady viscosity and good water absorption. It is nearly odorless, uninflammable and minutely toxic. Its molecular mass is 76.09. Its viscosity (20oC), specific heat capacity (20oC) and latent heat of vaporization (101.3kpa) are respectively 60.5mpa.s, 2.49KJ/(kg. oC) and 711KJ/kg. It can be mixed and solved with alcohol, water and various organic agents.

PG is the raw material for preparing unsaturated polyester resin, antifreeze, etc.It is also a moisture preserving agent for tobacco, cosmetic, etc. Besides, it is a good solvent in coating, paints, and others.

Application

1, Used as resin, plasticizer, surface active agent, emulsifier and emulsion breaker, also can be used as anti freezing agent and heat carrier.

2, Used as gas chromatographic stationary liquid, solvent, antifreeze agent, plasticizer and water removal agent.

3, The carrier solvent; wetting agent; humectant; anti caking agent; antioxidant; modifier; surface active agent; stabilizer; thickener; dough conditioners; emulsifier; flavoring agent; excipients; processing aid.

4, Mainly used for a variety of spice, pigment, solvent and preservative, vanilla beans, roasted coffee granule, natural flavor of the extraction solvent. Candies, bread, meat packing, cheese and other moisturizing, softening agent. Can also be used to make noodles, stuffing core mildew additives

5, Propylene glycol is the intermediate of the fungicide benzyl ether.
