Arimidex is not a steroid. It is anti-aromitase that is used by many body builders to help prevent bloating (edema) and Gynecomastia (bitch tit) associated with the use of testosterone and androgens. It can be used in place of Nolvadex ,Clomid, etc. Bodybuilders are using around 0.25mg to 1mg per day or 0.5mg to 1mg every other day and are having good success with it.
During a cycle, if using Arimidex, there is generally no need to use Clomid as well, but there may still be benefits to doing so.With moderate doses of testosterone 0.5 mg/day is usually sufficient and in some cases may be too much.

As to female. Many breast cancers are stimulated to grow by the female sex hormones oestrogen and progesterone. These breast cancers can be treated with drugs that block the effects of these hormones. Arimidex blocks the process of aromatisation. So it lowers the amount of oestrogen in the body. In advanced breast cancer the cancer cells may grow more slowly or stop growing completely.

Dosages of arimidex will vary from person to person. This is why blood work is essential to finding the perfect balance. One should start out at half a mg every other day and adjust as needed for the cycle. Some AAS users will not use an AI at first but they will have it on hand just in case. This isn't always a good idea, as once you start noticing gyno or excessive water weight it could be too late to reverse. Since AAS will continue building in the body and aromatize (steroids turning into estrogen), taking arimidex at this point would be like trying to stop a car already in motion.
In the treatment of breast cancer, Arimidex is almost always dosed at 1mg per day until the cancer subsides. Use may continue for a time at this stage and will often be switched to Nolvadex in a preventative measure once the cancer is in remission.
For the anabolic steroid user, Arimidex doses can vary with 0.5-1mg every other day being the most common. Very few should ever need more than 1mg every other day and many will be more than fine with half that amount.
